We arrived in Bali and went through Immigration, it was a VERY long line, took us about an hour to get through it! After that we got our luggage and headed for a car to take us to the villa. As soon as you walked outside you could feel the warmth and fresh air! There were taxi drivers everywhere trying to get you to take a ride with them, quoting prices. We didn’t know what it would cost and didn’t want to get ripped off so we chose a standard taxi. The ride to the Villa, even though it was probably 5 miles took almost 1.5 hours! The roads are super narrow and traffic was CRAZY! Finally we get close to the villa and cannot find the correct one, the numbering system does not make logical sense. Finally get to it and pay the taxi driver, it was 550,000 rupiah! Know we know we should never use a regular taxi! Went inside and got settled, it is a really neat place with our own private pool (Pictures below).
At this point it is about 5 and we are getting hungry we looked on google maps (NO VPN YAY!) and saw there “wasn’t anything close” then we looked on trip advisor and found a restaurant called the Gong resturant, at this point we were hungry so we tried it. It was a DELICIOUS meal! The atmosphere was really cool! We were sitting under a bungalow surrounded by plants and it was very cool! The service there was outstanding! They even had a shuttle that took us back to our place! Overall a VERY good first day!
