Today was a relaxing morning. I went and had breakfast and then went back to my room and relaxed. Around 11, I decided I should go to Railey Bay. So I went a got a ticket. To get to Railey Bay you MUST take a long boat. A long boat is a Thai Style boat that is made out of wood, and a single engine. The bay has NO roads in or out as it is completely surrounded by cliffs. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the bay. We arrive at the bay and I started walking. I read that there was a beautiful beach. I walked and walked and walked, I got to the last resort on the bay an there was no beautiful beach. I finally talk to someone and they tell me that I went to opposite direction!
I walk all the way back the other way and still didn’t find the beautiful beach. Now at this point I’m a little irritated. I ask for directions again and its NOT even on a named road. I start walking to the beautiful beach following others that were lost like me. You have to walk under cliffs and it was a beautiful setting, with stalagtites! Finally walk all the way through the cliffs and reach the beach! It is very pretty! I swam in the water for a while and then decided to come back to the other side. As I am leaving I see a warning sign, Warning Portegues Man of War are possible please clean the wound with sea water. (If you don’t know what that is, it is the MOST poisionist jelly fish and its REALLY painful, apparently). Good thing I was done swimming in that area!
Got back to the other side of the bay. I got a good coffee at one of the resorts and got the went to get the long boat back to Ao Nang (the beach I am staying at). I find the ticket guy and give him the ticket. He tells me to wait there for more people to want to go back. I am thinking to myself ok maybe 10 minutes. WRONG! I waited almost an hour! I FINALLY get back to Ao Nang.
